Salt Galata

Salt Galata in Istanbul, originally built in 1892 by architect Alexander Vallaury as the Imperial Ottoman Bank, is now a cultural hub blending Ottoman architecture with modern design. Restored by Mimarlar Tasarım Restorasyon (2009-2011), it features preserved historical elements like marble staircases and ornate ceilings alongside minimalist steel and glass additions. The building houses art exhibitions, a design-focused library, and event spaces, offering a unique blend of history and contemporary creativity that mirrors Istanbul’s cultural identity.
